Newly promoted Al Khaleej (SBL) hired 58-year-old Serbian coach Vanja Gusa for the upcoming season. Gusa, who previously coached at Al Safa in Division 1, successfully led his team to promotion to the SBL.
Gusa coached Serbia at the World University Games in Gwangju (South Korea) nine years ago.
He has also coached professionally in Kuwait (Kuwait and Kazma), Montenegro (Teodo), and Serbia (Zlatibor and KK FMP SoccerBet Beograd).
His team finished as the runner-up in the regular season of the Kuwait League in 2015.
